mckenzie mountaineering.... outdoor adventures

Mckenzie Mountaineering Blog

We wish everyone a happy 2016 and hope that your New Year has started well!

Just a wee update on our West Highland Way trips for this year. We are now at full capacity for our trek in May 2016 which is fantastic, but for anyone who is still interested in doing this renowned and scenic long distance trek in 2016 we are happy to announce we have an additional date in September now on our website and facebook page! The new date is 15th to 22nd September with the option of an additional day to ascend Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK, a fantastic end to a fantastic trek!

Autumn offers a completely different scene in the Highlands with the gorgeous purple heather in full bloom and the stunning variety of rustic colours in the trees all around. We are usually lucky enough to also have fairly mild weather (and by then the midgies are less of a problem than in the summer months!).

As usual we will be offering our inclusive fun barbecue eve on one of the nights along the way which is a great opportunity for everyone to relax and get to know each other in an informal setting. We also include a distillery tour to Glengoyne... a very attractive distillery on our first day of walking between Milngavie nd Drymen, offering distinctive Malt whiskys to learn about and have one or two tasters!

So if you are keen to learn more and book on the September trek, please get in touch, but don't leave it too long...
